Work was just a work day. Life in Jackson and the penthouse seems peaceful.

After work I went to the Miracle Pub for dinner. On the way my friend in LBI sent me a Snapchat video that I elected to save for later.
Ordered myself some pork roll fries and a jersey burger with no cheese. Wound up being seated at the bar and the bartender said she liked my shirt. The shirt in question is a black one emblazoned with Princess Mononoke astride a wolf. The text underneath says, "We are here to kill the humans and save the forest." Of course in the eponymous film that line is spoken by the wild boars, not Princess Mononoke. The bartender was nice, but I reckon that's her job and I didn't get any hopes up at all.

Texted with Niki, who's back in Salem, Massachusetts, because the 19th was her birthday. She's doing well but eating crap, lots of sugar, and she's still losing weight. Texted the others in my circle of friends as well and it was nice to connect with them.

At the bar a woman sat down next to me then asked, "You look like you know things."
"Yeah? Like what?"
"I need to get a key fob for a car for my mom for Christmas.
So I told her about this place on Fisher Boulevard, checked Google to get the correct address, and we started chatting for a bit. She's from Toms River but she's been in Louisiana and will be going to Thailand to teach English sometime in late January. Told her a bit of my story and it was nice to talk to someone. Nice to talk to a woman. She finished her steak bites and left. I finished my dinner, heard back from two more of my friends and headed back to the penthouse.

When I looked at the video, it was LBI teaching dance with preteen girls and told her I was so happy seeing her dancing and sharing her love of the craft with those young women.

Leah is leaving for where ever tomorrow morning, so after work I'll be in Toms River taking showers, wearing just a robe, pissing outside, and lounging on the large leather couch until Saturday night.

I need this.

Today was a good day overall.
