I did some adulting on Friday night and my financial situation is better than I expected. Thank goodness for unemployment, not to mention a placeholder job working graveyard shift, and finding a job in short order.
Didn't submit my paperwork to refinance my car since my bank's site wanted information that I have no idea about. I might take advantage of a trade-in offer from a dealership in Toms River, but I'm uncertain if it would make sense. If I can get a used car, trading in my Veloster, with better mileage then it'd be completely worthwhile. Especially if the payments are in the range of $150 - $175 a month.
On Friday I won $200 at work. Friday the 3rd was "employee appreciation day" and the boss bought everyone lunch and at 3 p.m. everyone rolled dice to win money. If you rolled dubs, you got $100. If you called the number while rolling dubs, you got $200. I won $100 twice which will definitely help me out this weekend.
Speaking of the weekend I have to get bloodwork done on Saturday morning. My PSA (prostate-specific antigen) rose from 1.8 to 2.2. Typically men in their 50s have their PSAs at 2.5, so winning? Also my friend in Matawan, who is a nurse, told me having a PSA level of 4 is concerning. After that it's down to Toms River to check on the cats, sneak in a decent shower, then head back to Neptune where I'll order an external terabyte hard drive to back up my computer. Planning on updating the operating system from Ubuntu 18.04 (Bionic Beaver) to Jammy Jellyfish (22.04) and see if that helps with performance on my laptop from 2015. I'm fucking annoyed my other terabyte hard drive got fucked and it's not writeable. Thank goodness I can read my files there.
With the rest of my largesse, I'm going to have breakfast after bloodwork and hit Johnny Mac's on Saturday night.
Maybe I'll buy a girl a drink.
