Work was good, even though it was slow as molasses. When I checked out this standing desk doohickey being used by a co-worker, I said hello to the girls on the team I deal with on a frequent basis. I affirmed to them it’s going to be a good day, and they were appreciative. I felt good.
Later, Steph messaged me asking if I left a ninja on her chair. “Nope, I only hand out foil stars.” I grabbed my little sheet and waddled over to give her one, also to see about this ninja. I figured someone left a little toy ninja, like a green army guy, but this wound up being a print-out of a ninja with some motivational message on it. Steph wound up choosing a green star. Another odd coincidence, her extension at work is twelve. Those who know me appreciate that twelve is an important number to me.
In the afternoon, one of the girls was introducing a new hire to the front office. I turned off YouTube and started to pay attention to the world around me. Tracie said, “That’s Chris. He does a little bit of everything around here,” then went on to enumerate all my job skills.
And to think I only warmed a chair and kept it moist throughout the day. I felt good after hearing that sentiment.
Yet the highlight was listening to the latest episode of Mission to Zyxx. It’s an improvisational comedy space opera podcast and it’s an absolute joy. Today Bargie was reminiscing about Beano, played a duet they recorded together before getting down to their silly, fun adventure.
