rakontoj el lajkŭudo per mia kunlaboristo

“Lajkŭudo” is the best Esperantization of the city name “Lakewood”.

In Ocean County, New Jersey there’s a town called Lakewood which is a haven for orthodox Jews. We’re talking black suits, white shirts, tassels, and women dressed like extras from The Handmaid’s Tale. My employer happens to rent a warehouse in their industrial district, sandwiched between two orthodox youth schools. One for girls, and one for boys.

My co-worker just came back from his lunch with a disturbing scene. A hasidic guy in a relatively new car, important since many hasidics drive crappy minivans in varying states of disrepair, pulled into the warehouse’s driveway.

No biggie since we share this warehouse complex with one of their insular businesses, presumably an Amazon reseller, But the guy, about his late twenties or early thirties pulled onto our side of the lot, parked, then took out his phone to take pictures of the orthodox Jewish girls laying down in the sun on their side of the parking lot.

When my co-worker confronted him, the guy was clearly spooked and tried to say “Oh, this is perfectly normal” or some such b/s before zooming away. My co-worker says he’s seen the vehicle before at the (presumed) Amazon reseller. Best of all, it was caught on our security camera out back. I wish I could get a copy, because then I’d throw it up on the YouTubes.
