fifty-one years
I turned 51 at 4:44 p.m. while filling my gas tank before heading up to Bloomfield to see my friend. Grateful they took time out of their busy day to welcome me to their home. Indian food was ordered and we chatted 'til 10 or 10:30 p.m. and it was good to see the dogs.
Heading up I took the Garden State Parkway North all the way to exit 151 and it was a much shorter trip. Jaybird called me and it was short-ish and felt awkward, but Jaybird isn't much of a talker unless he's discoursing on politics or philosophy. Still grateful to hear from him and I hope maribou didn't prod him.
On my drive I rediscovered that I subscribed to the Cows In The Field podcast, concerning film and philosophy, and listened to the episode about Amadeus.
Even if they did end the episode with a joke about Mozart.
Around 11:01 - 11:02 p.m., between mile markers 110 and 109 (I was heading south), I think I saw a meteor to the south-southwest in the sky. I made a wish.
My foot was starting to hurt again, the final prednisone was taken on Saturday and Sunday the fire was coming back in my right heel.
Grateful for those who wished me well on my birthday.
